Gianni Versace: the upcoming season of American Crime Story
Pop Culture meets fashion: FX’s show American Crime Story comes back with a new season. After the controversial series around OJ Simpson’s trial, FX announces that another upcoming season of the show focuses on Gianni Versace’s assignation in his Miami house.
Originally, the network announces that the second season of their most talked about series would be about hurricane Katrina. But they changed their mind and decided that the Versace case would be the first to be one, according to Variety.
What do we know? It seems that the Gianni Versace project is more advance in production development. We also know that Penelope Cruz portrays Donatella, according to this official picture leaked by the network. Indeed, we haven’t seen any promotional marketing from the Katrina project.
Additionally, we know that Ryan Murphy, the creator of the show, started both projects at the same time and it seems understandable that the network prioritizes one of them. From a personal point of view, the Gianni Versace case being notable in pop culture can appear more appealing to the public.
Finally, Ryan Murphy also says that he thinks of working on a new project for the series that will focus on Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky scandalous affair, that had a worldwide impact and tainted the White House in 1998. Another pop culture case that would appeal to the public.
